Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When someone emails us, we retain the message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems automatically receive basic technical details whenever a page loads, including:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is available
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, such as popular pages and common exit points. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Operating the site and maintaining page performance
- Routing a submitted query to the applicable search partner
- Measuring which resources are useful to visitors
- Displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Worth County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Worth County Sheriff, the Fourth Judicial Circuit, the Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS Central Repository, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not used to create consumer reports or dossiers about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted to one of those tools is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. We do not control a partner's retention, processing, or disclosure rules, so review its terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Missouri agencies, court systems, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, that destination's privacy policy applies. Check it before providing personal information.
Some advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. Their tracking is not operated by us.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may still be available to:
- Analytics vendors that measure site use and performance
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the site
- Search providers that process queries submitted to their tools
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for the information we collect. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights concerning personal data depend on the law that applies to the visitor and the request. Missouri's Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, governs records held by public bodies, while §43.540 RSMo addresses dissemination of Missouri criminal-history information. Those laws do not make this private site's visitor data a Worth County government record. Where applicable law provides a right, a visitor may:
- Request access to personal information we retain
- Ask that inaccurate personal data be corrected
- Seek deletion when the governing law permits it
- Object to or opt out of covered forms of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised from time to time. Any revision will be posted here and identified by a new effective date.
